VAWA Self-Petition
Also: VAWA
Self-petition path to a green card for abuse victims of U.S. citizen or LPR family members.
The Violence Against Women Act allows abused spouses, children, and parents of U.S. citizens — and abused spouses and children of LPRs — to self-petition on Form I-360 without the abuser's knowledge or cooperation. VAWA petitions are confidential, fee-exempt, and often qualify for fee waivers on related forms.
