Advance Parole

Permission to leave and reenter the U.S. while your I-485 is pending.

Advance Parole is a travel document issued on Form I-512 after you file Form I-131. It lets a pending adjustment applicant travel abroad without abandoning their I-485. It is not a visa and does not guarantee reentry — CBP still inspects you at the port of entry.
