Green Card

The common name for a U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551).

The green card is the document that proves lawful permanent resident status. It is issued in 10-year (regular) or 2-year (conditional) editions. It is also called the I-551 and used as a form of work authorization and reentry document.
