RFE
Request for Evidence — USCIS letter asking for more documents before deciding.
When USCIS needs more information to decide a case, it issues an RFE specifying the missing evidence and a deadline (typically 30 to 87 days). A complete, timely response is critical — failure to respond usually results in denial.
