Nonimmigrant Intent
A requirement to show you intend to return home after temporary stay in the U.S.
Most nonimmigrant visa categories require the applicant to show ties to their home country and intent to depart at the end of the authorized stay. Failure to demonstrate nonimmigrant intent is the most common reason consular officers deny tourist and student visas.
