Definition
Parolee
A noncitizen permitted to enter the U.S. temporarily for urgent humanitarian or significant public benefit reasons.
Parole is not a formal admission and does not confer immigration status — it is permission to be physically present in the U.S. Parolees may receive work authorization. Common parole programs include Cuban-Haitian humanitarian parole, Uniting for Ukraine, and CHNV.
